My name is Gina Costello, and I would like to tell you a little of the story behind this site. Gina’s Ginormous Gifts and Gems is loaded with great stuff. I started out as Gina Freeman, and I don’t have a large number of great family stories. Guaranteed, there is a great history behind everyone’s story, sometimes families just don’t discuss it. I had a very joyful early childhood with my grandmother, and that contains wonderful memories. Ultimately, I enjoyed all of the entertainment of the Good Ol’ Days. To continue with the good times, I lived across the street from the Shaw Family. He was the Pastor of the Church next door to him, and that kept me busy for years. Then, I moved to Philadelphia, and talk about a culture change, school was really different.
Fast Forward to The Story Behind Gina’s Ginormous Gifts and Gems
The Next major phase in my life was moving to the South. Here I raised children and met the man of my dreams. We returned to The North for the rest of my children’s upbringing and to be available for my mother-in-law, who recently passed. Ultimately, I have worked many jobs, in many places, and done many things. Well, a real Jane of all trades, you could say.
My Education
In the beginning, I started with a pharmacy technician certificate and a lot of volunteering. I have attended school long enough to receive a Bachelor’s in Health Sciences: With an Emphasis on Health and Wellness. Continuing, long enough to finish getting half of a master’s in Disaster Medicine and Emergency Management. I have acquired many certificates and lots of papers.
Most recently, I have worked as a Behavioral Assistant for children, in the home. I have been a caretaker and Nanny too. Prior to this, I achieved homeschooling my children and substitute teaching for years before Covid. Fast forward, I now am witnessing the graduation of my youngest son, and am looking forward to my family’s future ahead together. Oh, and I am a Notary for the State of New Jersey.

My favorite thing is spending time with my family, and I’m proud of where they are. I am looking forward to the next season that I will experience with them.
My favorite show is The Chosen, and my favorite out-of-family moment is the time I spend with my ladies’ group/community. So, my family, my faith, and my helping others are most important to me right now. So for that reason, I could not be happier that I have found this new venture that I have started.

I am a firm believer inmaking learning fun. One of the biggest challenges in education is making the content relatable and interesting enough to absorb and learn. Everyone learns differently, and with so many students in one classroom, it is hard to reach everyone where they are at. Private or small group tutoring with an engaging tutor can change all of that. At Brainfood we meet the student where they are at.
Not only are the tutors incredible academically, but they are also incredible people. For example, climbing Kilimanjaro, winning gold medals in international science competitions, editing a published novel at age 19, and professional soccer player. Our Experience In America
During Covid, the United States Education System was definitely proven to be unequal. Very few places in the country succeeded in the attempt to instruct students online. The negative issues in our systems were already many, but with the necessity to teach from home, it was a complete disaster.
As per my son, it was the worst school experience he ever could have had. There was nothing positive for him to say. It was a mental health breakdown every day. He immediately started his work in the early morning. The more work that he turned in, the less they found. He redid everything at least twice all year long. He had horrible grades and worked so hard, and all the teachers could say was I don’t have it. We tried phones, laptops, and finally computers. Nothing was compatible and taking it to them every day seemed to be the best way. So, talk about losing children in the shuffle. Working parents didn’t even know if their children were logging in or not. Some teachers who mastered this task did not even hear from some children the entire time and worried about where they were.
Online Success
Teaching and relating to children on a daily basis has meant so much in the past, but in this day and age we have learned a lot about how to communicate through video. Believe it or not, it is a great way for some parents to keep track of what is going on. I don’t know about you, but my favorite season of the year is fall? That is always a great ice breaker question when we come together in community. There are many reasons that I like this season. Cool weather, sweaters, and the start of boot season. Most of all, the evidence of hard work being done all around us. There’s planting, watering, and sowing needed to reap the abundant harvest. Just to note, do this all year, not only this time of the year. Another thing that I like the most about the Autumn season, is the beauty that surrounds us. From the sky to the ground, God’s creation is pleasing. So, there is true meaning and lessons in the fall harvest.
Sometimes, we get so busy that we forget about this four months of the year. The months that are bringing in a harvest. We can have jobs that see the season in a different way because of the duties/deadlines that we hold. We, as parents, can see each season for the activities and sports that are upheld in those times. Worldly holidays can also often mark times of the year. Not Everyone was raised on a farm or with parents/caretakers that had flourishing gardens. But, reading the Bible and knowing God’s word can definitely give you the ways to reap an abundant harvest.
Change
Fall also reminds me of change. So now we can look back and see the many ways that we have been working on ourselves. The pruning that God has been doing personally for us. Maybe like me, you feel overwhelmed with the many things that seem to need a little improvement. Maybe like me, you had a plan and just seemed to veer off into another direction or move forward not realizing that you forgot a few things along the way. Just remember, it is never too late to start over while taking advantage of the beautiful, cool season that we are in.
The Bible and the Harvest
So much of the Bible pertains to these processes that lead to a harvest. Many of Jesus’ parables have been based on the process of leading up to a harvest. God sees beauty in a generous giver, and as a church our harvest glorifies God. Because of our harvest, we can shine the light of Jesus upon others. If others see our harvest in our attitudes, they will have a desire for what we have belonging to the kingdom. Deuteronomy 24:19 says, “When you are harvesting in your field and you look over a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands”.
So, ask someone, what is their favorite scripture about harvest? It’s a great way to pick up a lot of scriptures to add to your journal, because I bet there would be many different ones to choose from. My favorite is Galatians 6:9; And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
How to Reap the Benefits of A Thankful Heart: All Year Long
Planting Seeds of Gratitude– Being thankful is something all Christians are supposed to do. We face a decision at every moment about what to plant in our hearts.
Cultivating A Thankful Heart– If you plant seeds of Thanksgiving in your heart, God’s word will keep them alive. Cultivate an attitude of gratitude by remembering all that God has done for you. If you write them down and imagine that He didn’t do them, you will be able to stay in thanksgiving more often.
Serving Cheerfully– No matter where you are in life, and what is happening, remember to give thanks to The Lord. A spirit of gratitude and joy, will enhance your relationship with God and one another. Afterall, isn’t that the way to reach the greatest commandment of loving one another.
Sow What You Reap– If you plant seeds of gratitude, you can expect an abundant harvest of blessings. Be careful, the opposite is also true, you don’t want to let ungratefulness steal your joy and block God’s blessings that He has in store for you.
Between sowing and reaping there is an amount of time. During that time, you will need to be obedient, live by showing the fruit of the spirit to others, and water those seeds with God’s word.
The Most Important Meaning of Gathering the Harvest
A task for All
Most of all, don’t forget, Jesus is sending us all out to bring others into the harvest. {There is True Meaning and Lessons in the Fall Harvest}. He does not mean fruits and vegetables, He means people. We are called to show God’s love to others by inviting them to enjoy the same harvest we receive. So this fall, let’s all be ready to tell others what the Lord has done for us.
Let’s be ready to explain the way, the truth, and the light in Awe. One thing that I was taking too long to do was: get a thought on paper of what I would tell someone to bring them to Jesus. If you have not thought about what you would say, join me in getting something together that you are comfortable with, so as not to miss out on any chance that comes our way. Always be ready, and pray to The Holy Spirit to help you with the words to bring them to Jesus, and He will.
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and kindness.
1 Peter 3:15
We are all living in different “seasons” of life, no matter yours, let’s be ready to show glory to God by telling of the grace that He has given us. To me, the verse below means that we need to make disciples/believers of many, many more.
Then He said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
Matthew 9:37
Every morning ask God to open your eyes to someone who needs Jesus. It can be intimidating if you are not ready, but let’s face it, we all know someone who needs Jesus. So during this fall harvest time, let’s pray for each other. I would like us all to pray that we, as a community, can go out into this harvest season and bring some laborers into “His Harvest”.
A Prayer For the Harvest Season
Dear God, we love you all the time, not only when we see abundance and overflow. We are humbled at the grace and favor that you have allowed in all of our lives. As we enter this season of harvest, cause our hearts to remember others. Guide us to be helpers to those in need, givers to those who need, generous with our time, talents, and resources. Remind us to give our overflow so you can bless the work of our hands. Remind us to be cheerful givers in order to represent the love inside of us that shows all glory belongs to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Most of us have travel dreams. Some of us find ways to do it all the time. I myself have loved to drive as long and as far as I can. My mother and grandmother never drove, but my grandparents traveled the world after the kids and first grandkids were getting along. I just thought that that is what people did when they stopped working. My have times changed. Retiring for some doesn’t come, others have to retire with a whole different type of living style. The Beginning Advanced
What do you want to be when you grow up? We’ve come a long way since the times when people grew up training to learn the trade that their parents knew. Some still hold that dream in their hearts and continue bringing the life they learned forward into the future. Others find reasons to work with the advancing times that have developed over the past decades.
The Next Stages of Dream Big
Then comes high school, and you realize that the next four years are going to fly by. At this point, we have said to have dreamed of being ballerinas, princesses, astronauts, firemen, police officers, teachers, etc. We all have gifts and talents, that I hope someone has seen and tried to help guide us in working toward using them. Hopefully, by this time you have found some interest in some activities. This is where the pressure begins to make a plan for the future.
What Dream Big Means to Me
As for me, my youngest son is at this point in his life right now. I hope that I have done enough in, these two stages, to allow him to discover God’s plan for him without too many twists and turns. Yes, it’s important what you do for a living, but I think that what we do for others is even more important. I feel the way we treat others and living with integrity is the key to happiness. Money is good, sharing is caring, and six figures can help. So for that reason, dreaming big to me right now means that I plan to succeed in this online community marketing business. I want to reach my dreams by making a plethora of income, sharing what I learn with others, and helping others to advance and reach their dreams. So as for the new year ahead, I only know that it will be more productive and profitable.
How I See This Dream Playing Out
For reasons of specificity, I will lay out a plan for short and long-term goals. According to my vision board planners, I was to call it Dream Big, just as our marketing family chose to do also. It was such an important project that whoever could get together in NC on New Year’s Eve did. Mine was made based on the positivity that I am declaring in my life this year. My word for the year is Powerful. I am looking to bring out the power that is in me. That power that we are given and often overlook with unbelief. I am believing that I will be giving back in numerous ways.
The dreams that have been put in my heart over the years have not been lost. So, I am declaring that my family and I will own some land. We will live and work on that land. I will own a large and drivable camper so we can see some of the beautiful world that the Lord has made. My greatest desire is to see my husband fish for fun and not for the money. It was a very back-breaking job in the working years and it would be great to see him enjoy his passion without any stress. The money would not be totally out of the question, we do own a tuna permit.
Short-Term Mission
As for the short-term goals, I am working hard to get further up in my position with RRR247. I have the tools given to me, I just need to get my finances secure.
